ILDA is legally and operationally independent from any life diamond manufacturer or retailer. Our funding comes from membership dues and certification fees, not from diamond sales commissions. This structural independence ensures that our certification decisions are based solely on documentation quality and process compliance, never on commercial relationships.
Our board members are required to disclose any financial interests in life diamond businesses, and recuse themselves from decisions affecting those entities. Annual financial audits ensure our continued independence and non-profit status.
